“Let me know when it’s close.”
We all want something to look forward to.
I get it. I do it. I understand it.
At least, I thought I did.
We build our weeks around it.
Working for the weekend.
Counting down to plans that feel like ours—even when they’ve been shaped by the job, the industry, and the routine we’ve fallen into.
Waiting for those few days that feel like freedom.
Having something to look forward to matters.
Goals, plans, anticipation—it all gives direction.
But what’s the point if we don’t enjoy what’s happening in between?
If we’re always waiting, we’re missing.
Everything we do is a decision.
And inside each decision is a choice:
Find something in the moment... or wait for something better to arrive.
One builds a life.
The other delays it.
Imagine how many good days slip past because they didn’t look like the one you were waiting for.
How many moments you rushed through, dismissed, or overlooked—just to get to something “better.”
Looking forward is easy.
Being present?
That’s where the work is.
And that’s where life actually happens.
Stop waiting for the good part.
You might already be in it.
